What do we offer?

Learn how to ride while enjoying the scenery of our diverse environments. At Black Mountain Hideaway we offer a wide range of adventurous and exiting trailrides. From short, historical, interpretive, low-impact tours to full days of action. Every tour begins with a brief of horsemanship which includes safety guidelines and instruction. We have horses for all levels of riding and even include a free riding lesson with all trailrides! Choose one of our spectacular rides or we can tailor your own special adventure. 2 Hour trail

This is an adventure on the historical Bump Track through spectacular rainforest and our own ancient logging tracks. View the Mowbray Valley, River and the Big Mowbray Falls from a cool 550 m above to the sea below. A great experience for both beginners and more advanced riders.

4 Hour trail

You will enjoy the full day ride on the national trail to water Lilly Lagoons, ride the stock route through the Australian Bush Savannah and enjoy the view of the Great Barrier Reef from high mountain tops. A trail you will never forget!

Full day ride of rainforest and outback (exotic tropical lunch provided ) Fully catered overnight ride camps.

Of course we can tailor a trail for your own special adventure too.

Weekly lessons

Would you like your children to learn safely how to ride horses? We can teach them using natural horsemanship methods (horse communication). We offer weekly lessons that start in our arena but with a focus on being able to ride independently on a trail.

Everybody can learn how to ride at Black Mountain Hideaway, including small children, less-abled people and adults. You will also learn how to handle, groom and to saddle up the horses while having heaps of fun! Do you have the spirit? Come and join our Black Mountain Hideaway horseriding club! 2 Hour trail: $110 per person
3 Hour trail: $165 per person
4 Hour trail: $220 per person

Lessons: $55 per person per hour

Jackaroo and Jillaroo 5-day Courses: $660 per person

Full day ride of rainforest and outback (tropical lunch provided on request): $299 Fully catered overnight ride (bush camp or heritage cabin): $469
