We hope you chose Black Mountain Hideaway as a peaceful retreat from your daily stresses.

About Us

Suzie was born and brought up on a cattle station in central Queensland and much of her childhood competing at championships all over the state. She began competing when she was only 18 months old. Her family bred and trained horses from their horse stud with an equestrian complex attached.

Suzie and her family have competed at a national level in dressage, showjumping and cross country. Also the family travelled extensively to compete successfully at rodeo events, western and other disciplines.

Suzie has been a college teacher of many subjects, she has also taught Horse care & Management courses and has over 20 years experience teaching people how to ride, manage and care for horses.

Thereby, Suzie is experienced and trustworthy with children and loves working with animals. She is also very talented in sharing her knowledge and experience, not only with very small children, but also with adults and less-abled people.

Suzie's knowledge of the individual horses is extensive, which means she will be able to match horse and rider. All horses have been trained by herself especially for our trail & teaching centre.
